For this question, we need to use the Distributive Property:
2(x^2 – 1) = 2x^2 – 2
3x(x – 4) = 3x^2 – 12x
Michael Paul Goldenberg’s excellent comment was that the constant term must be -2 and that leads us right to the answer! Thanks
Combine like terms and only the x^2 are combinable.
A way to check your work is to put 2(x^2 – 1) + 3x(x – 4) into Y1 and to put each multiple choice answer into Y2 and then compare to see if the tables for Y1 and Y2 are equivalent.
This is actually a reading question!
If x = 0, it will still cost 250
If x = 1, the cost should be 273 (250 + 23)
If x = 2, the cost should be 296 (250 + 23 + 23)
Try these values for x and you will find the answer 🙂
Rational means that the number can be written as exact number or with a repeating decimal. Which of the above is either a terminating or repeating decimal?
This question asks students to substitute or plug in -3 for x so
g(-3) = -2(3)^2 + 3(-3) being careful about order of operations 🙂
Students can check their work by using the TI-84
Dear New York High Schoolers,
Best on your Regents exams this week.
Make sure you get to school early and eat a good breakfast!
Do not leave early: Spend all the allotted time (3 hours — unless your IEP is for more time)
Eat a good breakfast
Go over the entire exam after you finish and check your work
