Coach/Mentor

Robin brings her energy and enthusiasm for Math to classrooms in and around New York City while also incorporating these learning and teaching strategies in her own classroom two days a week at the College of Mount Saint Vincent since 2002 as well as leading the Practicum courses and Methods for Middle School Mathematics for Touro Graduate School of Education.

Robin has worked with inservice teachers most notably at the Dr. Richard Izquierdo Health and Science Charter School in the South Bronx where she supported teachers and students for Common Core Regents success.  Coaching is student-focused through classroom visits as well as support on email/text as needed.  Ideas for lesson planning are provided with multiple modalities so teachers can switch the energy of the class when needed.     She has also helped Math classrooms in many ways including as a consultant to the Special Education Math department in South Huntington Long Island  and an Algebra I volunteer at the New York Harbor School.

For over 15 years, she has been a Math Education Field Supervisor for Touro College, Teachers College (Columbia), NYU and CMSV.   See below for a list of schools and or click here for a partial list of schools where she has supervised.

Robin’s focus is on the learner experience which creates a dialogue that centers on student learning and the student’s perspective. She provides ideas and feedback to reach students where they are and boost their potential for Math content while building confidence and maximizing college and career opportunities.

At the high school level, this includes strategies for teachers, students, administrators and families on the Common Core Algebra I Regents which students need to pass to earn a high school diploma. Please click here for Robin’s call-to-action blog posts “Get the Math and Get the Points“.

Robin is a New York state approved CTLE Provider of professional development workshops and/or mentoring/coaching.
She provides support for working teachers inside and outside the classroom which can take the form of real time in-class support, remote/onsite lesson planning and/or onsite specially designed workshops.
